About this pattern
A symmetrical butterfly in folk art style, with blue and gold wings and flowers in red, orange and teal, set on a dark background. It looks like a traditional embroidered textile and makes a striking square piece for a pillow or a framed wall panel. The symmetry makes it easier than it looks: once you have stitched one wing, the other mirrors it. Start at the body in the center and work outward, and finish with the background around the flowers. On 14 count Aida the finished square is about 7.1 × 7.1 in (18 × 18 cm), a good size for a 10 in (25 cm) cushion cover with a border around it. You could also leave the dark background unstitched and use black Aida to save time while keeping the folk look.
