About this pattern

A bright orange tiger lily with curling petals and long stamens, painted against a black background. The strong contrast makes the flower look almost lit from within, and the finished piece has real drama on a wall. It is a detailed design with many oranges and reds; work the petals one at a time from the center outward. The black background is easy to stitch but fills a lot of space, so it is a good part to work on while relaxing in front of the TV. On 14 count Aida the finished lily is about 6.4 × 8.6 in (16 × 22 cm). If you prefer a lighter piece, you can leave the black background unstitched and work the flower on black Aida instead — it saves many hours and still keeps the dramatic look.
