About this pattern
Our largest mandala: a radiant golden sun surrounded by rings of turquoise, coral, lavender and green, inside a bright yellow circle. At 120 stitches wide with more than forty colors, it is a project for experienced stitchers, or for anyone who wants a centerpiece to work on over many evenings. The many shades blend into soft gradients, so stitching it feels a little like painting with thread. Split the chart into its printed pages, stitch one page at a time, and use the overlapping rows to line them up. Because so many colors are close in tone, sort your floss on a ring or card before you begin and keep the symbol key next to you. On 14 count Aida it finishes at about 8.6 in (21.8 cm) square, a statement piece for a large frame.
