A glowing medallion that moves from deep indigo and violet at the edges through turquoise to lime and gold at its heart. The background has been removed, so the mandala floats on bare fabric and you only stitch the design itself. Because every ring repeats around the center, the chart is easier than it looks: finish one petal of a ring, then simply repeat it around. Start with the bright center, work outward one ring at a time, and mark each finished section on your printed chart. Most of the floss is in a handful of blues and violets, which makes it a good next step after your first small pattern. On 14 count Aida it finishes at about 5.7 in (14.5 cm) square, a lovely size for a small round frame or a hoop on the wall.
