About this pattern

Jewel tones fill this lively mandala: sapphire and turquoise petals, glowing orange and gold, and accents of plum and pink. The outer background has been removed, so the finished piece shows bare fabric at the corners and you stitch only the medallion itself. With 34 colors and lots of small details, it suits stitchers who already know their way around a chart and enjoy frequent color changes. Park your threads rather than finishing them off each time: bring each color up again where it is next needed nearby. Stitch the turquoise star at the center first; it is the easiest shape to count from. On 14 count Aida it finishes at about 5.7 in (14.5 cm) square, perfect for a round hoop display or a gift for someone who loves color.
